Shay Mitchell, a Canadian actor and model, is an entrepreneur. Most famous for playing Emily Fields, she is one of the stars on the Freeform TV show Pretty Little Liars. Shay Lo was the name given to a Jennifer Lopez Mitchell admirer by her friends. As a child she was captivated by her passion of performing arts. She discussed with her parents her desire to pursue a career. After becoming proficient in dancing and modeling, Mitchell wanted to pursue acting. She took acting classes in Toronto. Mitchell began her career in a string of commercials for television. After landing guest roles and some small roles in TV, she received her first major break on Pretty Little Liars when cast as Emily Fields. Her acting talents were well-respected by both critics and fans. She then went on to make a mark in the world of cinema with films like Dreamland, Mother's Day and The Possession of Hannah Grace. The psycho thriller You that she played the lead role, gained her greater recognition. Shay Mitchell also has a writing career. With Michaela Blayne she wrote an adult novel called Bliss.
